Patient Waiting Area
Patient waiting area is the first impression for the patient. If it is being dull and generally uninteresting environments, it can be a huge impact on how patients perceive the quality of their care.
It is a good idea to create inviting spaces that reduce anxiety and bring energy into making the waiting area more welcoming for the patient. It makes your patients’ waiting time seem shorter.
Below is the minimum size of the corridor, door and ceiling height complied with the requirements set by Ministry of Health. Those waiting chair allocate beside the corridor will be considered obstruction, which mean the measurement is start from the obstruction.
Ambulatory Care Centre:
- Minimum clear width of corridor ≥ 2.1meter
- Minimum clear opening width for patients’ door ≥ 1.2meter (Not swing into the corridor)
- Minimum clear opening width for patients’ toilet door ≥ 0.9meter (Not swing inward, neither into corridor, install sliding door is one of the option)
- Minimum ceiling height for air-condition room ≥ 2.4meter
- Minimum ceiling height for non-air-condition room ≥ 3.0meter
Clinic:
- Minimum clear width of corridor ≥ 1.2meter
- Minimum clear opening width for patients’ door ≥ 1.2meter (Not swing into the corridor)
- Minimum clear opening width for patients’ toilet door ≥ 0.9meter (Not swing inward, neither into corridor, install sliding door is one of the option)
- Minimum ceiling height for air-condition room ≥ 2.4meter
- Minimum ceiling height for non-air-condition room ≥ 3.0meter
